Herbed Mushrooms

This is a brand new one. Saw the mushrooms in the store. Had to have them.

25 clean button or baby bella mushrooms
2 tbs butter and/or olive oil
4 large cloves garlic, crushed
1 healthy sprig fresh oregano
1 sprig fresh sage
1 pinch coarse salt
freshly ground black pepper, to taste
optional: 2-3 tbs soft goat cheese

Melt butter/heat oil in a frying pan or skillet. Add garlic, herbs and mushrooms (whole). Saute until the mushrooms are browned, but not so much that their juice escapes. Reduce flame, and add seasoning and goat cheese (if desired). Toss until cheese softens and mushrooms are evenly coated.

Serve with toast, over greens, over pasta, or on their own.
